Several of the songs this evening had not been heard at our club before , amongst them were, High Class Lady from the 5-piece band German and The Lennerockers, Does The Wind Still Blow In Oklahoma, from Reba McEntire and Ronnie Dunn, Jimmy Soul's, If You Wanna Be Happy, which was alkso a hit for Rocky Sharpe and the Replays, Alan Jackson's, Laid Back 'N Low Key, from his most recent album, Good Time, Rick Guards, Sea Salt Sally, and BR 549's, Seven Nights To Rock.

The dance floor was full  for most of the  evening and the audience joined in with several songs . The two bringing the best response were Hank Williams', Mind Your Own Business, and Johnny Mercer's, I Remember You originally a hit for Tommy Dorsey in 1942 but given the Country treatment by Frank  Ifield, Slim Whitman and Glen Campbell, giving each a hit in the charts.

Andy's and Moira's concert are always enjoyed by our members, so no doubt they will be back again next year.

Three new to me were Toby Keith's, Where You Gonna Go, Steve Holy's, Brand New Girlfriend, and Rockie Lynn's, Holding Back The Ocean, but it was great to hear, Billy 'Crash' Craddock's, Rub It In.

Again Andy and Moira were splendidly attired having a different outfit for each of the three acts, which with great vocals and instrumentation, made for a lovely show.

Andy Bell

As part of an excursion South of the border, Andy and Moira were making a welcome return to our club. As is their wont, they were immaculately dressed for each of the three sessions performed.

Starting with the current popular Brendan Walmsley song ' Speak To The Sky', their programme continued with an excellent mix of old and new numbers.

Line dancers particularly enjoyed Miranda Lambert's ' I Can't Be Bothered', Blake Shelton's ' Some Beach' Scooter Lee's ' Ribbon of Highway', Brookes and Dunn's ' Neon Moon' and Hal Ketchum's ' Past The Point Of Rescue'.

Partner dancers took to the floor for Garth Brooks' classic ' If Tomorrow Never Comes', Dolly Parton's ' Yellow Roses' and Leon Payne's ' I Love You Because' even Rock 'n' Rollers were catered for with Chuck Berry's ' C'est La Vie' ( It Goes To Show You Never Can Tell ) and Dave Edmund's ' I Knew The Bride'.

Andy showed us his mouth - organ expertise on ' Red River Valley ' which with ' Tennessee Waltz', ' Ghost Riders' ' The Cowboy Rides away' and ' King Of The Road' gave us ample opportunity for all of us to exercise our vocal chords.

All evening both Andy and Moira showed excellent musicianship on Guitar and Keyboards respectively and Andy took to the Banjo

in fine style for Keith Urban's ' God's Been Good To Me'. Other songs i personally liked were Dwight Yoakham's ' I Sang Dixie' and Joni Harm's s ' We Work It Out'.

Once again this fine duo had given us an evening to savour.

Andy Bell Sound

Tonights visiting duo were making their first appearance at our club, having travelled all the way from Ayrshire, Scotland.

Andy Bell and his partner Moira have been performing together for the past four years. Andy is a multi instrumentalist and does the vocals; Moira plays the keyboards and does harmony vocalising. They also bring their own light show with them.

Andy is an excellent guitarist and Moira is superb with her keyboard machine. Both are very strong and able on their vocals.

Their programme consists of a splendid mix of old songs, new and lesser-known ditties, all of which kept the different factions of the audience more than content.

It was great to hear Johnny and Jack's' Stop the World', Wynn Stewarts 'Walz of the Angels' Carl Smith's 'More and More' Jerry Lee Lewis' 'Juke Box' Dave Edmund's 'I Know the Bride' Marty Stuart's 'Sundown in Nashville' and many others including 'Old Time Fiddle' and 'Girl With the Pick-up Truck'.

Another highlight for me was Andy's interpretation of the old Webb Pierce/ Rufus Thomas number 'Walkin' the Dog' with a terrific Banjo number and Harmonica accompaniment.

Anytime this act is south of the border they will be more than welcome at our club.
