BLACK STETSON July 7th 2011

Following the success of their first appearance at our club last year. It was inevitable that Kenny and Vicky would be invited back. However, Vicky was unable to attend as she received major heart surgery earlier in the year and has been instructed to rest for twelve months.
Her replacement another Kenny, shared lead and rhythm guitar duties leaving Kenny Rich to take lead on all vocals.

Tonight's show was a lovely, lively mix of old and new country and lots of requests were met following a distribution of the duo's Playlist. Starting this evening with, Six Days On The Road, they continued with, Mr Man In The Moon, Galway Girl, California Blue, Why You Been Gone So Long, and Fly Like A Bird.

Each of the three sessions had a similar old and new compilation which suited both listeners and dancers alike.

Amongst other songs were, This Is My Homeland,Tempted, Swingin' Doors, Rollin With The Flow, and Elvis', Can't Help Falling In Love With You.

My favourite during the night was Stacy Dean Campbell's, I Can Dream.

Each song produced appreciative applause  confirming Black Stetson's popularity here.

August 26th 2010   BLACK STETSON.......

Makig their first appearance at our club, Kenny and Vicky certainly pleased our members with their fine vocals and instrumentation.

Each has been involved in Popular and Country music since their teens, Kenny playing in various groups overe the years having taught himself to play lead  and bass guitar and keyboards. Vicky has a similar background concentrating on bass guitar and vocal harmonies. They formed the duo in 1996 and have performed throughout the U.K. and Europe.

Their show was a lovely mix of old and new country with Kenny taking the lead on vocals.

Starting with Billy Jo Spears, Blanket on the Ground, they continued with Buck Owens', Think of Me, Willie Nelson's, Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain, George Jones', Billy B Badd, Toby Keith's, Cabo San Lucas, Jimmy Buffett's, Margaritaville and finishing their first spot with my current favourite, Billy Cherrington's, People Are Crazy.

The evening continued in similar vein throughout with both classic and modern numbers, lots ideal for dancing and singalongs. Amongst them were Froggy's, Somewhere Under The Sun, Patsy Cline's, Crazy  and for a couple of encores Don Williams'  You're My Best Friend and Rodney Crowell's, Loving All Night.

Comments from our members were most favourable; so it will come as no surprise to see Kenny and Vicky at our club again.
