June 17th 2004 Jim Worton

On a mini-tour of the Midlands Jim Worton was our entertainer this evening. Now resident in Essex, Jim has been performing country music for ten years.
Tonight in our audience were two visiting fan's of Jim's, Michael and June from Castle Bromwich, who, incidentally, had only seen Jim perform in Spain and Texas.
Jim was differently attired for each of his three acts, some of his outfits acquired on a recent trip to the U.S.A, where he performed a concert with good friends Speed Limit in Wichita, Kansas.
His programme was a good mixture of old songs, new songs and the regular standards, all of which kept the dancers and the listeners happy throughout.
Songs new to me included ' Jessico' ( Kentucky Headhunters ) ' Just a Kiss' ( Steve Holy) and Clay Walker's ' Gonna live a life of Love'.
Special mention must be made of Jim's excellent guitar playing, notably acoustic solo versions of ' Spanish Eyes' ' Cold Cold Heart' and ' You Win Again '
The dancers filled the floor for ' Down Louisiana way' 'I Ride a Horse' ' All Shook Up' 'Hey Goodlookin' and others.
Yet another evening of fine entertainment.
This was Jim's first visit to this venue, but no doubt he'll be back should he venture north again.
