Born in Belfast, Davy and Valerie have always been involved in vrious forms of music, Irish,Country, Folk, Pop, etc. At eighteen years old Davy was a professional performer playing the saxophone and now also plays rhythm guitar. He opened his first recording studio, 'Wizard Sound', in his hometown in 1978, producing records for local bands including his own with Valerie called 'Smicker'. They moved to England in 1980, re- locating their studio here.. After six years of recording others they decided to form the duo, Logic throughout their career they have regularly toured the U.K. Ireland and Europe and are now based in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. Each of them takes lead and harmony vocals and they have made three excellent cd's creating their own backings with musician friends, one of the cd's containing twelve of their own compositions. Smartly attired, making their first appearance at our club, they started with Ray Price's, My Shoes Keep Walking Back To You, Connie Smith's, Once A Day, Billie Jo Spears, Blanket On the Ground, Randy Travis', Heart Of Hearts and Hank Locklin's, Please Help Me I'm Fallin'. Later they included Irish songs, I Just Can't Wait To Walk An Irish Mile, Pretty Little Girl From Omagh, Galway Girl and Your Wedding Day, plus others. Davy took the opportunity to show us his saxophone expertise with Wilbert Harrison's, Kansas City and also sang a less familiar John Lennon song, Crippled Inside. Lots more variety continued throughout the show with songs from the catalogues of Hank Williams Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Everly Brothers, Buck Owens, Hank Snow and others. Their Non-Stop show produced Forty - four numbers, all delivered in fine style and greeted with the great applause they richly deserved. This may have been Davy's and Valerie's first concert at the Northern Renegades but I'm certain it will not be their last. Cyril Insley
