PETE WALKER October 13th  2011

Making his first appearance at our club, Pete, from Northwich ,Cheshire, started his musical career by learning to play guitar at age 15. Since then he has been involved. At different times, with Combo's /Bands playing all types of music from dance to pop, soul to cabaret etc.

In 2000 he embarked on working solo, again covering all genres. In 2005 a friend invited him to perform a country music concert and he teamed up with Alec Johnson to form 'Twin Falls Duo'. He was immediately hooked on country music and has continued to work in this area since.

Performing solo tonight, he started his concert with Merle Haggard's, Rambling Fever, continuing with Brooks and Dunn's, Neon Moon, Daryll Worley's, Messed Up In Memphis, Hank Locklin's, Please Help Me I'm Falling, The Eagles', No More Cloudy Days and Kris Kristofferson's, Help Me Make It Through The Night.

Each song had excellent guitar support and was delivered in fine style, was well appreciated by dancers and listeners alike and received deserved applause.

The last two acts were similarly formatted with a lovely mix of old and new songs eg. Julie Robert's, Unlove Me. Keith Whitley's, Don't Close Your Eyes, George Strait's, Down Louisiana Way, Dwight Yoakam's, She Wore Red Dresses, Willie and Waylon's, Good Hearted Woman, and Hal Ketchum's, Dreams Of Martina. He also included two of his own compositions, It Just Takes Time, and One In a Million.

To conclude his show, Pete gave us Rodney Crowell's, Please Remember Me, and encored with Steve Earle's Copperhead Road, Finally ending with the ever popular, Cowboy Rides Away.

So impressed with his performance were our members that I am sure we shall be seeing Pete again at The Northern Renegades.
