Saturday October 16th 2004 Rob Jordan

Local entertainer Rob was making a welcome return to our club following a most impressive performance here in June.
To witness a repeat show of such quality as the earlier concert was expecting a lot, but Rob did not disappoint us.
His first act was a fine mixture of Country and Fifties and Sixties Golden Oldies.
How great it was to hear again Curtis Lee's ' Pretty Little Angel Eyes ' and ' Under The Moon Of Love ' The Kalin Twins' ' When,' Jim Lowe's ' Green Door ' ( also covered by Frankie Vaughn ), Rosemary Clooney and Shakin' Stevens ' This Ole House' Billy Fury's ' Like I've Never Been Gone ' Don Gibson's ' Sea Of Heartbreak ' and several Buddy Holly and Elvis numbers.
However, this night we were in for a special treat when Rob's Dad ' Trev ' was invited to sing a few songs and what a great performer he turned out to be.
with songs like Dion Dimucci's ' Teenager In Love ' The Crickets, ' That'll Be The Day,' Buddy Holly's, ' It Doesn't Matter Any More,' Johnny Burnette's ' Your Sixteen ' The Shirelles ' Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow ' and the Billy Fury / Tony Orlando song ' Halfway To Paradise, ' he had the audience eating out of his hand.
The party atmostphere created by these two entertainers continued all night long with favourites like ' Is This The Way To Amarillo ' ( Tony Christie), The Mavericks ' Dance The Night Away ' Paul Anka's ' My Way ' and loads more Elvis songs.
Once again Rob proved to be one of the best entertainers on the local circuit. It was such a pity that more people were not present to appreciate and enjoy his performance.

June 12th 2004 Rob Jordan

For the second Saturday Special, The entertainment was provided by local artiste Rob Jordan.
Originally from Leicester, Rob now resides in nearby village, Woodville. Following a ten year career in the Army he is now a roofer by trade and performs on stage on a part - time basis.
His carreer started with Karaokes and following success in competions he decided to try his luck as a solo singer / guitarist 8 years ago. He also plays in a Rock and Roll group when possible.
His show tonight was in 3 acts. The first two consisted of 50's and 60's Pop and Rock and Country songs. He has only been doing Country for 6 months, a fact much belied by his impressive performance.
Rob is highly energetic on stage and likes to involve his audience in his act. All evening he provided music that kept both dancers and listeners happy, music originally from Cliff Richard, The Mavericks, Shakin' Stevens, Ricky Nelson, Patsy Cline, Engleburt, Tony Christie, Warren Smith, Nancy Sinatra etc.
However the best was left 'till the last act. His tribute to Elvis Presley ( The King )
Dressed in a white jump suit as used by Elvis in his Las Vegas concerts, Rob delivered at least 20 songs associated with Elvis, everybody from ' Blue Suede Shoes ' Heartbreak Hotel, Hound Dog, All Shook Up, Love Me Tender etc. to ' Viva Las Vegas, Burning Love, Suspicious Minds, and American Trilogy.
A fully packed club enjoyed his show so much, he has been invited back for a repeat performance. I can only confirm how good his act is and look forward to his next appearance in October.
