January 22nd 2004 Steve Hanks
The entertainment tonight was provided by Steve Hanks who had travelled down from Doncaster to be with us. He has a distinctive vocal style reminiscent of Tim McGraw.
Throughout the evening Steve carefully chose material to suit every faction of the audience. He provided a variety of material for those who liked to sing alon-- Some broken hearts, He'll have to go, Me and Bobby McGee, My best friend etc. He catered for the dancers:-Cherokee Boogie, Mercury Blues, Here comes my baby, etc. He delivered lesser known material:- 'Friends' his own composition, Boy Howdy's 'She'd give Anything' and Lee Roy Parnell's 'On the Road' and Little Texas's 'Amy's Back in Austin'.
The evening was nicely rounded off with Geordie Jack's 'Making Friends' which as usual had the entire club linking arms either seated or on the dance floor.
