July 3rd 2008 STEVE MARSHALL

Tonight  Wrexham based Steve started his show with a song I cannot recall hearing at the club before, Mark Chesnutt's, Almost Goodbye.
Continuing with a mix of both Old and new country, he proceded  with  Billy Ray Cyrus', Where 'M  I Gonna Live, The Maverick's, Dance The Night Away and  Marty Robbins,' My Woman, My Woman, My Wife.

As an admirer of Johnny Cash he gave us several songs from the latter's catalogue  including  the rarely heard, Understand Your Man and One Piece At  A Time.

Lots of favourite dance numbers were also included in his concert, amongst them Ernest Tubb's, Waltz Across Texas and George Strait's, I Just Want To Dance With You.

Froggie songs are always popular with our members and this evening they were treated to, Wings On My Heels, Somewhere  Under The Sun  and  All Because Of You.

Once again Steve kept the listeners and dancers happy, providing a most enjoyable show.

October 4th 2007.. STEVE MARSHALL

Tonight was an unscheduled appearance for Steve as he was standing in for a fellow artiste currently ill. Unfortunately Steve himself was suffering from a frozen shoulder which prevented him from playing the guitar, so he sang with his backing tapes alone on this occasion.

Once again he gave us a good mix of old and new popular country, all of which suited our members. Tonight he sang Johnny Cash's, Folsom Prison Blues, Ronnie Milsap's, I Wouldn't Have Missed It For The World, Rodney Crowell's, I Walk The Line - Revisited, Roy Orbison's, California Blue, Confederate Railroad's, Trashy Women, Buck Owen's, Think Of Me, Vince Gill's, Like Cowgirls Do and more, all keeping the dancers active and listeners content.

Towards the end of the evening he delivered a few more songs to join in with, amongst them, Okie From Muskogee, Your Cheatin' Heart, Working Man, Hello Mary Lou and concluding with The Cowboy Rides Away, received the appreciative applause his performance deserved.

October 19th 2006  STEVE MARSHALL

Following a great show in March, earlier this year, Steve was invited back to entertain us again tonight, and soon had the dancers filling the floor.

Starting with Willie's, On The Road Again, it was the next song, Froggie's, Wings On my Heels that saw a packed floor and waving arms everywhere.

Other songs attracting the dancers included  Ned Miller's, Do What You Do Do Well, Billy Ray Cyrus's, Where'm  I Gonna Live, Under The Sun, Good Hearted Woman, All My Ex's Live In Texas, My Shoes Keep Walking Back To You and Tom Russell's, Blue Wing.

All night our members responce to Steve's show was appreciative and for his last session, he included songs old and new, Alan Jackson's, Meat and Potato Man, Dave Dudley's, Six Days On The Road, which brought out the Rock 'n' Rollers, The Eagles, Lyin' Eyes, but it was Dave Sherriffs, Best Of Friends and Neil Diamond's, Sweet Caroline, that inspired masses onto the dancefloor.

To bring another super evening to a close, Steve gave a couple of encores, Johnny Cash's, Ring Of fire and Charlie Landsborough's, What Colour Is The Wind.

March 23rd 2006 Steve Marshall

We were expecting a duo tonight, but unfortunately the second half of the twosome, Steve 's Brother- in- Law Alan, has become unavailable due to a serious kidney malfunction.

Originally from Liverpool but now resident in Gresford, Wrexham, North Wales , Steve has sung professionally for nineteen years having started performing at the tender age of five.

He has been in a duo for three years, performed with the Johnny Blue Band and Hambone and even made excursions on the Continent and in America where he sang in Tootsies Orchid Lounge.

His programme is a blend of old and new Country and his deep, powerful voice was well appreciated by listeners and dancers alike.

The Linedancers particularly responded to Elvira, Red Hot Salsa, Little Ole Wine Drinker, and All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down.

Western dancers filled the floor to, My Woman, My Woman, My Wife, Waltz Across Texas, Vertical Expression- - - and All Because Of You.

It was especially pleasing to hear Johnny Cash's, One Piece at a Time, and Understand Your Man and Mark Chesnutt's, She Was, songs not normally heard on the circuit.

Steve gave us a smashing show and I and our Club members wish Alan a speedy recovery from his critical illness.
