Tonight was an unscheduled appearance for Steve as he was standing in for a fellow artiste currently ill. Unfortunately Steve himself was suffering from a frozen shoulder which prevented him from playing the guitar, so he sang with his backing tapes alone on this occasion.
Once again he gave us a good mix of old and new popular country, all of which suited our members. Tonight he sang Johnny Cash's, Folsom Prison Blues, Ronnie Milsap's, I Wouldn't Have Missed It For The World, Rodney Crowell's, I Walk The Line - Revisited, Roy Orbison's, California Blue, Confederate Railroad's, Trashy Women, Buck Owen's, Think Of Me, Vince Gill's, Like Cowgirls Do and more, all keeping the dancers active and listeners content.
Towards the end of the evening he delivered a few more songs to join in with, amongst them, Okie From Muskogee, Your Cheatin' Heart, Working Man, Hello Mary Lou and concluding with The Cowboy Rides Away, received the appreciative applause his performance deserved.

We were expecting a duo tonight, but unfortunately the second half of the twosome, Steve 's Brother- in- Law Alan, has become unavailable due to a serious kidney malfunction.
Originally from Liverpool but now resident in Gresford, Wrexham, North Wales , Steve has sung professionally for nineteen years having started performing at the tender age of five.
He has been in a duo for three years, performed with the Johnny Blue Band and Hambone and even made excursions on the Continent and in America where he sang in Tootsies Orchid Lounge.
His programme is a blend of old and new Country and his deep, powerful voice was well appreciated by listeners and dancers alike.
The Linedancers particularly responded to Elvira, Red Hot Salsa, Little Ole Wine Drinker, and All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down.
Western dancers filled the floor to, My Woman, My Woman, My Wife, Waltz Across Texas, Vertical Expression- - - and All Because Of You.
It was especially pleasing to hear Johnny Cash's, One Piece at a Time, and Understand Your Man and Mark Chesnutt's, She Was, songs not normally heard on the circuit.
Steve gave us a smashing show and I and our Club members wish Alan a speedy recovery from his critical illness.
